The Twelfth Prayer of Christmas

Dear Jesus,

We adore You. We adore You because of the faith that You enable each of us to have in You. We adore You because of Your grace. We adore You because of what You have done. We adore You because of Who You are. On this, the twelfth day of Christmas, we are focused on You alone.

Jesus, on this day, we confess the ancient creed that unites all Christians across the world. We confess:

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of Heaven and earth,
In Jesus Christ His only begotten Son, our Lord,
Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
And born of the virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate.
He was crucified, dead, and buried.
On the third day He rose again from the dead.
He ascended into Heaven, where He sits at God the Father's right hand.
From there, He will come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit.
I believe in one holy Church.
I believe in the communion of saints,
The forgiveness of sins,
The resurrection of the body,
And the life everlasting.
Amen.

Jesus, we thank You for the wisdom that You have given to the Church throughout its history. We thank You, Jesus, for Your life and work. Thank You, Jesus, for Your love.

Jesus, as this Christmas season comes to a close, we ask that You will be with us. Remind us always of Your presence and Your work. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
